The results of the audit on ASCO vessels for the last year were discussed
An online meeting was held on the audit results on the vessels of the Transport and Offshore Fleets of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) for the last year.
The audit report compiled by the independent auditor Baylar Agayev revealed shortcomings in documentation, personnel trainings, organization of trainings, transportation and safety of cargo, technical condition of fire-fighting equipment, emergency rescue vehicles on ASCO vessels.
Bailar Agayev said that the elimination of the gaps identified during the audit leads to positive results in safe navigation issues. The purpose of the audit is to ensure the operation of vessels in accordance with the requirements of international conventions to which Azerbaijan is a party.
Speaking at the meeting, ASCO Chairman Rauf Veliyev stressed the importance of conducting audit on vessels in accordance with the international standards. He instructed the heads of the relevant departments aimed to improve the technical condition of ASCO vessels, provide crew members with work and rest facilities in accordance with the requirements of the relevant conventions, as well as to eliminate current problems.
Representatives of each fleet of the company said that the most of the issues reflected in the report have already been solved, and steps are also being taken to close the other gaps .
