Chairman of ASCO Rauf Veliyev provided information on the company’s activities, projects and plans for the future. He noted that ASCO regularly updates the transport and oil fleet. At the same time, along with using the capabilities of the local shipbuilding industry, ASCO also maintains cooperation with other countries. The Chairman also noted special attention that is paid to the implementation of quality standards and modern technological achievements on ships, which are planned to be purchased and put into operation in the next few years as part of the fleet renewal program. That is very important in terms of competitiveness. In their joint speech, David Chen, chief manager of Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd., and Andrew Tuite, technical director of Incat Crowther, touched upon the issue of building effective cooperation. They noted the possibility of building ships that meet ASCO requirements. In their presentation, the company representative said that Incat Crowther is the world’s most famous ship design company. Until today, the company has developed design of more than 430 different types of floating vehicles with aluminum body. Ships designed by Incat Crowther are renowned for their reliability, durability and safety. Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd. has been operating since 1992. The company is engaged in the construction and repair of ships and is the largest exporter of aluminum ships in China. Cooperation between the two companies began in 2009. As a result of this union, 10 vessels were built within the frame of 6 projects. Mr. Rauf Valiyev expressed confidence in the efficiency of ASCO’s cooperation with Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd. and Incat Crowther. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Caspian Marine Services (CMS), ASCO’s alliance partner. During the meeting, the parties also discussed cooperation with the companies to enrich the CMS fleet.
