Training in the ASCO Training Center for Employees of Influential Foreign Companies
The Training Center of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC (ASCO) functioning within Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy hosted basic safety training with the participation of Total, Saipem and BP representatives from various countries.
The training was conducted by the Adviser to the Chairman of ASCO, the famous captain who has many years of experience in the sea, Titos Giannakakis.
During the training, participants were explained the safety standards, goals and requirements.
The five-day basic safety training is based on the guidelines 1.19, 1.20, 1.13, 1.21 of IMO Model Courses. According to the new IMO requirements adopted in 2010, this training is mandatory for all seafarers working on marine vehicles.
The training consists of theoretical and practical exercises and includes techniques for personal survival, fire prevention and suppression, first aid, personal safety, and social responsibility.
