Four Years Since the Commissioning of the "RoPax" Type "Azerbaijan" Ferry
It has been four years since the commissioning of ASCO's "RoPax" type "Azerbaijan" ferry.
Built at the Baku Shipyard, the vessel was inaugurated on March 1, 2021, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.
Over this period, the ferry has transported 1,214 railcars, 23,883 trucks, 3,844 passenger cars, and 23,739 passengers.
The "Azerbaijan" ferry has a length of 154.50 meters, a width of 17.7 meters, and a board height of 7.5 meters. Currently, it stands as the largest ferry in the Caspian Sea in terms of cargo capacity, capable of carrying 100 passengers, 56 tank wagons, or 50 freight vehicles/TIRs.
Notably, this uniquely designed ferry was recognized as the "Best Ferry of 2021" by Baird Maritime. Additionally, it was listed among the world's top 50 vessels in RINA's "Significant Ships of 2021".
