Last year 1088 ships were repaired and returned to operation

In 2024, a total of 1088 ship repairs were carried out at ASCO’s “Zigh” Ship Repair and Construction Plant and the “Bibiheybat” Ship Repair Plant.

Out of the total repair operations, 870 were intervoyage navigation repairs, 8 were major repairs, 20 were dock repairs, and 1 was a current repair. These 899 repairs were completed at the “Zigh” Ship Repair and Construction Plant. Meanwhile, the “Bibiheybat” Ship Repair Plant completed 100 intervoyage navigation repairs, 17 major repairs, 54 dock repairs, and 18 current repairs, totaling 189 repairs.

In 2024, 27 of the ships repaired belonged to third-party organizations.

Over the past five years, ASCO’s ship repair plants have carried out 4707 repairs, 195 of which involved ships belonging to third-party organizations.

Ship repairs are conducted in compliance with the requirements of international registries and conventions. During the repairs, ship hulls are cleaned, and main and auxiliary engines are replaced with modern, low-emission models that have minimal environmental impact. From 2018 to 2023, the hulls of 558 ships were cleaned, and 105 auxiliary and 16 main engines were installed.

Both plants are continuously modernizing their infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of the repair processes. The “Ship Repair Monitoring” system has been implemented to plan necessary spare parts and materials and ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget according to approved schedules. Additionally, the PM module of the SAP ERP system has been successfully deployed for ship repair and maintenance planning.

ASCO prioritizes environmental protection and energy efficiency in all its operations. In 2024, solar panels covering an area of 512 sq. m were installed at the “Bibiheybat” Ship Repair Plant.

Furthermore, both the “Zigh” Ship Repair and Construction Plant and the “Bibiheybat” Ship Repair Plant offer a wide range of professional ship repair services. Since 2017, the “Zigh” Plant has also been constructing small-capacity tugboats. Five such vessels have been built and delivered, with one more planned for completion in 2025.
