"Handysize" type "Khojaly" ship on the US coast

At the beginning of this year, ASCO’s “Handysize”-class vessel “Khojaly”, having departed from Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala’s largest seaport, carrying 33,000 tons of sugar, has successfully reached its destination.

Currently, “Khojaly” is conducting unloading operations at Crockett Port, near San Francisco, on the west coast of the United States.

This vessel was commissioned in May of last year as part of ASCO’s strategy to enhance its cargo transportation capabilities beyond the Caspian Sea and diversify its operational geography.

The “Khojaly” has a deadweight of 38,593 tons, a length of 180 meters, a width of 30 meters, a draft of 10.47 meters, and a maximum speed of 15.7 knots. Its draft allows it to enter many shallow ports with ease, even when fully loaded.
