The “Open Doors Day” event was attended by management and representatives of ASCO, the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, and the Baku Shipyard. During his speech at the meeting, the rector of the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, Heydar Asadov, provided information on the results of student admission for this year, the organization of education at the Academy, and the conditions created for students. He noted that in the current year the number of students enrolled in the ASMA with high scores increased. So, the score of the majority of applicants who received student status was more than 300 points. The rector also noted that the ASMA diploma is recognized in more than 170 countries of the world, and it is the only institute of higher education educating personnel in the field of navigation in the region. Here, the learning process is carried out in accordance with international standards and based on the principle of transparency. In addition, Heydar Asadov said that at the Academy, students are provided with free textbooks, dormitory accommodation, uniforms and two meals a day. ASCO Deputy Chairman Nazraddin Akhmedzadeh began his speech with congratulations to students and their parents. He said that one of the strategic goals of the company is to create strong personnel potential: “In this regard, we have high hopes for students of the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy. The students are provided with all necessary condition to develop their interest in education and to facilitate their transformation into professional sailors. Nazraddin Akhmedzadeh also noted that graduates of the ASMA have the opportunity to work anywhere in the world: “I’m sure that being professional in the future, you will be able to further advance the possibilities of seafaring existing in Azerbaijan. You can be awarded the title of seafarer, which is considered one of the influential professions at all times.” Imanverdi Hasanov in his speech said that graduates of the ASMA have always been distinguished by their knowledge and skills. He noted that at the moment, dozens of graduates of the Academy are working among the employees of the Baku Shipyard. Then, a film about the activities of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC was demonstrated. After watching the film, two students with high scores were presented student ID cards and gifts on behalf of ASCO management. Namik Hasan, who was admitted to the Academy with 644 points, shared his joy with the participants of the event: “I am extremely proud that I will study at the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy. I will try to justify the trust of my parents and teachers.” During the meeting, it was mentioned that last year 9 students graduated from the Academy, receiving a diploma with honors. Four of them were presented with the diploma with honors. After completion of the official part, the meeting continued in an informal manner. Students and parents asked questions of interest to them.
