News News “Deniz” newspaper E-publications Photo gallery Video gallery Geological exploration drilling vessel “Mamed Suleymanov” underwent major overhaul 29.08.2024 10:55 Geological exploration drilling vessel “Mamed Suleymanov” belonging to ASCO Caspian Offshore Oil Fleet underwent overhaul at “Bibieybat” shipyard. In the course of the repair the main engine of the vessel, devices of the windlas and mast, water-oil radiators, piping systems of different sizes, electric motors of auxiliary steering devices were repaired, 3 new diesel generators, 1 air compressor and oil separator were installed, works on testing the crane-beam of the lifeboat were carried out, electrical control and protection of mechanisms and electrical equipment, lighting systems on the vessel were repaired. The vessel is equipped with two modern stationary VHF radios Furuno FM-8900S, Radar Coden MDC-7912, automatic identification system TR-8000 MKII, GPS GP-170, general purpose TV antenna. All emergency services equipment has been replaced with new generation EPİRB, SART, VHF (GMDSS) equipment. The gyrocompass, high-frequency command and broadcasting equipment were also repaired. In order to improve living conditions of the personnel, necessary works were carried out in the canteen, sanitary facilities, recreation room and cabins, new container for geological prospectors was prepared and installed. During shipyard repairs underwater and surface parts of the vessel's hull were completely cleaned with abrasive sand, steering complex, bottom and onboard fittings, and caterpillar devices were repaired. Damaged sections in the underwater and surface parts of the hull, internal compartments were replaced and painting works were carried out. After repairs the vessel was put out for sea trials and after successful trials was handed over to the representatives of the Register for classification.
