News News “Deniz” newspaper E-publications Photo gallery Video gallery The ASCO delegation visited the Aframax tankers "Shusha" and "Karabakh." 11.08.2024 17:55 The delegation, composed of Rauf Veliev, Chairman of the Management Board of "Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping" CJSC (ASCO); Deputy Chairman Zaur Nagiev; General Director of "ASCO Shipmanagement AFEZCO" Chingiz Safarov; Technical Director Konstantin Yastenko; Marine Inspector Denis Sabetov; and Emil Babaev, Leading Specialist of the Information Technology Department, visited the Aframax tanker "Shusha" which was docked at the port of Aliaga, Turkey, in the Aegean Sea. The primary objective of the visit was to review the operational performance, technical condition, and repairs of the vessels over the past year since ASCO began operating Aframax-type tankers. During the visit, the masters of the vessels briefed the delegation on the overall condition of the tankers, organizational measures, and the progress of work on board the vessels. ASCO chairman Rauf Veliev also met with Azerbaijani seafarers from the crews of "Shusha" and "Karabakh", inquiring about their working conditions, living conditions, and any issues they encountered. The chairman had a discussion with Third Officer Magomed Nadirov and his trainee Anar Muradzade from the "Shusha," as well as with the engine-room mechanic Anar Muradov, cook Ramil Mingaliyev, and trainees Timur Sabetov and Elvin Abdulrahmanov from the "Karabakh," discussing their ideas and suggestions. It is noteworthy that over the past period, a total of 22 Azerbaijani seafarers have been assigned to our Aframax tankers. 11 of them were involved in the internship program, 6 national personnel who completed the program successfully have already been employed, and 5 more are expected to be hired. Additionally, 6 more Azerbaijanis were directly employed on these vessels without participating in the internship program. Among the positions filled are chief officer, third officer, fourth engineer, power-engineer, engine-room mechanic, and cook. Plans are underway to hire Azerbaijani masters and chief engineers for these vessels. During the meetings, the seafarers expressed their gratitude for the provided conditions for operating the new type of vessels, offered their suggestions, and pledged to live up to the trust placed in them.
