ASCO hosted a meeting with US guests
A bilateral meeting was held with the guests from the United States of America at CJSC “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” (ASCO).
The meeting was attended by Robert Sekuta, former US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan in 2015-2018, former Read Admiral Ron MacLaren, director of the US Joint Reserve Forces, and Afghan Niftiyev, Director of the Caspian Research Center.
ASCO Chairman Rauf Veliyev informed the guests about crucial projects implemented in Azerbaijan for the development of the transport system in recent years. Thanks to the implemented projects, our country is rapidly becoming a major transit and logistics hub.
During the meeting, the guests were informed about the position of ASCO in the implementation of international and regional transport projects, activities of its fleet renewed recently, as well as the work carried out by the Company within the Transnational International Transport Route (TBNM). Rauf Valiyev stressed that ASCO, which provides transport and specialized maritime transport services in the Caspian Sea, has resumed operations in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean basin since 2014, to address a dependence on one market.
The guests were further informed that ASCO has been cooperating with American Shipping Bureau (ABS), the world’s prestigious classification company and Ernst & amp; Young, and audit firm. The certificates issued by these companies, including their reports, are posted on ASCO’s official website.
Expressing gratitude for the detailed presentation, the guests from the United States positively evaluated the actions taken by Azerbaijan in the area of transport and logistics, as well as in the expansion of the transit opportunities.
