Major overhaul of “Natavan” vessel operating in foreign waters has been completed

The multi-purpose bulk carrier "Natavan" of “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” CJSC (ASCO), operating in foreign waters, has been overhauled. Repair works were carried out at the Gurdesan shipyard, located in the Altinova/Yalova region of Türkiye.

As part of the work, along with the main and auxiliary engines of the vessel, all other machines and mechanisms were repaired. Cargo cranes, rescue and fire-fighting equipment, ballast and bilge systems, compressed air systems and mechanisms were put in good order.

In accordance with the new requirement of MARPOL convention annex 4, necessary changes have been made to the vessel’s fuel line. The vessel was also equipped with a ballast water purification device according to the relevant convention requirements.

In order to improve the living conditions of the crew, necessary works were also carried out in the dining room and cabins.

In addition, the underwater and above-water parts of the vessel, decks were cleaned and painted, and damaged areas of some underwater parts were completely replaced.

After major overhaul the vessel is involved in cargo transportation in the Black and Mediterranean basins.

It should be noted that “Natavan” vessel has been operating in waters outside the Caspian Sea since 2014. The carrying capacity of this vessel is 5200 tons, length – 108 meters, width – 16.74 meters.
