Meeting with "Shandong Port Group" representatives was held at ASCO
Meeting with "Shandong Port Group" delegation led by Li Fengly, CEO and Board Chairman was held at "Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping" JSC (ASCO).
Rauf Valiyev, ASCO Management Board Chairman provided detailed information to the guests about the company's 165-year rich history and activities.
Rauf Valiyev spoke about the transport and logistics projects implemented in Azerbaijan under the leadership of president Ilham Aliyev in the last 15 years. He also talked about the Baku International Sea Trade Port, Baku Shipyard, modernization of ASCO's fleet, Baku - Tbilisi - Kars railway connection, as well as other important works done in the sphere of air and land transportation.
Having spoken about the importance of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), Rauf Valiyev noted that there are all opportunities to increase the efficiency of cargo transportation through Azerbaijan, and these opportunities are being developed more and more.
It was also emphasized at the meeting that the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the political and economic sphere will lead to an increase in the volume of cargo transported through the Middle Corridor.
Chairman of the Board and CEO of "Shandong Port Group" Li Fengly said that he came to Azerbaijan after Kazakhstan as part of his visit to countries located on the Middle Corridor. He noted that important works have been done in the direction of the development of this corridor.
Having provided detailed information about Qingdao port, which is a part of "Shandong Port Group", the guest talked about the available opportunities in the port for transporting goods to neighboring countries in a short time. He added that "Shandong
Port Group" is interested in developing cooperation with a number of institutions of Azerbaijan, including ASCO within the framework of these possibilities.
A broad exchange of opinions was also held at the meeting on other issues of mutual interest.
