ASCO is interested in cooperation with prominent shipping companies
On February 8, Rauf Valiyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) met with Christos Matargas, Executive Director of United Product Tankers and Andreas Hadyipetrou, Executive Director of Columbia Shipmanagement LTD.
ASCO Chairman Rauf Veliyev briefed the guests about the institution he leads. He said that ASCO, an organization with about 160 years of history, today operates successfully as a modern shipping company following international standards. He also mentioned that the renewal of fleets and increase of knowledge and skills of the staff have been one of the main priorities of the Company.
Rauf Veliyev also spoke about successful cooperation between Columbia Shipmanagement LTD and ASCO. He noted that, as part of this cooperation, ASCO sailors gained the opportunity to serve internship in vessels of the mentioned company sailing in world waters.
Further, the guests provided detailed information about their companies.
The sides exchanged views on various aspects of the shipping industry. Both expressed their interest in cooperation.
