A Football Tournament among Sailors Dedicated to the International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis Is Completed
Mini football tournament dedicated to 31st December – International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis, and organized among staff members of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC (ASCO) and other bodies within the company structure.
The final matches of the tournament were intense battles. The teams of the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet and “ASCO – Security” faced each other at the game for III and IV places. Players of both teams showed an interesting game. The winner with a score of 4-3 was the team of the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet.
In the final, footballers from the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard and Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard occupied the green field. However, during the main time the winner was not determined. The name of the finalist became known after a series of 6-meter penalties. Exact in their shots on goal was the team of the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, which became the winner with a score 2-0.
Speaking at the last sporting event organized by ASCO this year, the head of the Department of Social Development and Transport Ilgar Orujlu congratulated the winners of the mini-football tournament dedicated to the International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis, and wished them good luck. He also spoke about sporting events held during the year among employees. He noted that these sporting events play a big role in the effective organization of leisure activities for sailors, strengthening friendship between them, and improving their physical health.
Then, during the awards ceremony, the winners received diplomas and gifts.
It should be noted that Director of the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard Rafael Mikailov, Yard Deputy Director Sahib Gasimov, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of the Yard Azad Muradov, Deputy Director of the Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard Namig Nurmakhammadov, as well as about 100 spectators watched the final game.
In total, 10 teams participated in the tournament. Among them were the teams of the Marine Transport Fleet, the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet, the Zigh Dry Cargo Port, the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, the Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard, the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy – TTM, the Production Services Office – “Nagliyyat LLC”, “ASCO – Security” and catering staff.
