News Ferry-vessel 'Mercury 1' returned to operation after major overhaul 01.11.2023 10:10 Ferry-vessel “Mercury 1” of transportation fleet owned by “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC, has been overhauled. Repair works, carried out at “Zykh” Ship Repair and Construction Yard, were completed efficiently and in a timely manner. Main engines of the vessel underwent major overhaul, two out of three auxiliary engines were replaced with new ones. Work on hull welding, installation of pipelines, electrical installation and automation was carried out on the vessel. Repairs of ship mechanisms (pumps, separator and compressor) were also carried out. Repair works at ship machinery were carried out (pumps, separator, compressor). Modern communication and navigation systems, including a new-generation 'Inmarsat-C' satellite communication terminal, two mobile ultra-shortwave radio stations, a depth sounder, and two antennas for fixed VHF communication radio stations, an electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS), radar, and a gyrocompass were installed on board the vessel. Furthermore, underwater and above-water parts, as well as the main deck, engine room, and superstructure of the 'Mercury 1' vessel, were cleaned and repainted. The crew's accommodation and service quarters were renovated in accordance with modern requirements and standards. After successfully passing sea trials, the vessel was returned to operation.
